Organizational Structures that Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Andres Gonzalez is the VP and Chief Diversity Officer Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin where he oversees a number of initiatives linked to advancing health equity. Our conversation focuses on the emerging organizational changes that health systems are making to link workforce diversity and talent development with quality of care for diverse populations. We discuss the value of breaking down those silos and how important it is for health equity to be integrated into quality of care. An important element of this work is how much Andres forged important collaborations among the leadership team, with employee resource groups and key community stakeholders who worked collaboratively and strategically together to address health inequities.

Andres Gonzalez is Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin located in Milwaukee, WI. He provides direction to the Office of Diversity & Inclusion where he leads Diversity & Inclusion strategic initiatives that include: Business Resource Groups (BRGs), Community Engagement, Diversity Action Teams (DATs), Diversity & Cultural Competence Education, Emerging Markets Initiative, Health Equity, Language Services, Leadership Development, Supplier Diversity and Talent Acquisition. Andres serves on numerous nonprofit and professional association boards of directors and has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years . He been instrumental in creating culturally and linguistically competent programs in healthcare systems and community nonprofits. A graduate of Cleveland State University, he holds a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Community Agency Counseling.
